We left Friday morning to drive to Dauphin Island AL, which should have only taken about 5-6 hrs. Well, we ended up driving an hr to an hr & a half out of our way, so we had to turn around & go back to where we started from. Once we got back on track, it was better. We still had to stop every hr or 2 to feed Braeden, who when I would try to feed him decided that he didn't want to eat. Anyway, we left here at 11:30 am & didn't get to Dauphin Island until about 9 pm, way longer than 5 or 6 hrs. We get checked in, put the kids to bed & stayed up to talk.
Saturday morning we got up, and took the kids to the beach, they had so much fun playing in the sand, being in the water & collecting sea shells. Even Braeden got in the sand & water, he had a blast. Then we went & had something to eat, my friend & I took her son, and my younger 2 to Walmart to do some shopping. OMG, it was packed, I have never seen the walmarts in our area that packed around Christmas. Everyone from the island shops in the weekends I'm guessing. It even had a dr's office in it, never seen that either. So we spent a little while there, then went back to the motel to have dinner & some drinks. We went & sat on a dock, and it felt so good.
Sunday we spent packing up & then went to see Fort Gaines, that was really nice too. I would really love to go back to visit again, cause who knows in a few yrs, that may be home :)
