I started out writing this as a post to a thread on my mom's board, and then it turned out to be a post for my blog....So here goes

Back in Oct/Nov we had William & Chandler evaluated for ADHD, both have failing grades, both have behavioral issues & both have some anger issues. Well turns out that William doesn't have ADHD, but could have some oppositional issues, something like O.D.D. He was referred to see a psychiatrist, still waiting to find one. Chandler on the other hand has ADHD. He started meds in Nov and a few weeks ago we upped his dosage from 18 mg of Concerta to 27 mg. So far we have good days & bad. His teacher notices some changes at school, but at home they come & go. I guess cause by the time he gets home, the meds have worn off.

Christmas break started for us on the 16th :( All the boys seem to be excited about a little break from school. Chandler had a few good day, but the last 2 have been bad. The other kids have been great though. Not much else going on here, I just feel like the holiday isn't a holiday this year :( Growing up we had lights on the house, a tree we decorated the day after Thanksgiving, my family got together (aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc), it was a nice family thing.

The last few years our holiday has just gone down hill. We used to spend the holidays with his sister & his parents as my family all lives on the west coast, but his sister moved to PA in 2006 & that was the end of that. I think that's about the time hubby quit "caring". He used to help them with lights on the house, we lived in a townhouse so we really couldn't decorate the outside too much, landlord had issues. My parents moved here in 2009, that year was our last in the old house, and the 2nd year since 96 (went to WA in 98 for Xmas) that I had my parents around for the holiday. Then last year my parents moved into their new house, we moved into ours & we spent it apart. My brother (23) & his girlfriend live with my parents & he's unsocial (has adhd, odd, something), my hubby hates him, he hates hubby, you get the idea. And then this year we don't even have a tree. We usually get one from SIL (she works at Lowe's) for like $5, nice BIG $60 trees. This year she took what I said wrong, and I just left it alone, hubby wanted a small 2-4 ft tree & in my opinion you have big or nothing, so we have nothing. LOL We have lights in the windows, and stockings hung, and of course we are all together, but I am just ready for it to be over. :(
