Well, today I have to blog this because never in my life have a I been called a pedofile for breastfeeding. I received an email from my "best friend's" girlfriend tell me that I was a pedofile because I am still breastfeeding at 14 mo. I breastfed my 3rd child just as long, and was never called that. I was told to take him off the boob & give him some damn food.
Am I wrong, does still breastfeeding make me a pedofile, NO I THINK NOT!!!! Any dr will tell you that it's good for them, grant it, this is not the reason I'm still doing it, but it's not bad for them. Hell I know woman that have done it for way longer. While I think that past a certain age is not okay, but that's my opinion. I mean where does she get off telling me this? My child won't drink from a cup for more than 1 -2 oz, that's not enough for him. He will scream for hrs if I don't feed him, what else am I supposed to do? I can't very well let him starve because I don't want him on my boob anymore.
Anyway, had to get that off my chest.
As I'm sure you know, that's completely ridiculous and that woman is obviously either uneducated or ignorant to believe that breastfeeding at 14 months is wrong. I think it's wonderful that you're still breastfeeding and wish I could've made it that long. I say congrats to you, girl! :)
