Back to L&D

Well, after my trip to L&D Friday, I had a few instances of not being able to breathe and feeling faint, but it was manageable.

Sat I got up, went to work, felt fine. Shot my brother's pictures, did another shoot, didn't have any problems. Well, that didn't last long. I started having problems breathing about 1 pm, had to do another shoot despite not being able to breathe, and left to go to my friend's baby shower. I got out of work and felt fine, so I went to do some last minute shopping, and felt fine. But on the way to the shower I started getting dizzy again & couldn't breathe. I got there a little after 2 and it took me about 45 mins of sitting there to be able to breathe. I stayed for awhile longer, then went home. Had a few problems then, but was able to get through them again.

On Sunday I got up at 7:30 am, went downstairs played on the computer for about 30 min then started cleaning my desk off. I wasn't having any problems then. So I got up to do some other house cleaning since I was trying to get ready for my baby shower. Well around 10, I started having problems again, I would start doing something, then have to sit down, which was workable. Well, then it got to where my heart was racing way too fast, I couldn't breathe, kept feeling faint, vision was getting blurry, and head was feeling very hot. I laid down, tried to get Zackary to move, that didn't help, I would sit up, walk around, nothing made it better. And the whole time Zackary was just as active as always. I finally decided I couldn't take it anymore so around 12:45 I called the dr's office, and they told me to wait for a call back, but that I needed to go to L&D. Robert wasn't home, so I had my Mom drive me to the hospital. We got here, thankfully I was still having problems, cause on Fri I wasn't having any problems when I got into L&D.

When I got to L&D my heart rate was 190, I was having problems breathing, and having blurred vision. They immediately put me on oxygen, and started the testing phase. I had a chest xray, ekg, heart u/s, blood work & a ct scan, all of which came back normal, but at this time all of my symptoms were gone. I was in L&D being monitored all night along with Zackary, who of course was having no issues. Spoke with the cardiologist, was told that it was probably brought on by the pg, and that it should go away once I'm not pg.

Had to wait for the ob to release me, and when she came into the room, I lost it. She pretty much told me that it was all in my head, and that I should come in with symptoms, well that's what I did. Then she told me that if it happened again to come back. I said if I had to come back that I wanted him out, she then started to question my concern for my son. I am not only thinking about my son, but myself & my other kids. If I were to have an episode at home I could fall & hurt my son, if I have an episode while driving I could crash. Besides I am full term now, and if I came in 1 cm dilated & was having regular contractions, they wouldn't send me home! So I go home, and was fine the rest of the night.

This morning I get up, get dressed, and start driving to my appt, when I start having another episode. When I checked in for my appt, I told my ob what was going on, she decided to listen to my heart, it was really fast. So I go to the waiting room, she went to talk to cardiology, and comes to get me. By the time they got their equipment ready, it had started to fade, so didn't detect anything. So I have now been put on a monitor for 72 hrs to catch whatever is going on, and have been given medicine to take if it starts acting up, but I can't take it until I have a few episodes on the monitor that way they can see it. So I go back to finish my 37 wk appt. Heart rate was okay, & bp was normal. She checked me, I was still 1 cm, wasn't as thick as I was on Sun, and showing slow progess. Because of my concerns about falling while having an episode, while she's checking me, she asks if she can "stir" things up a bit in there to see if she can get things moving, I'm done so I said sure. I'm at a point that I don't care when he's born anymore.

So I go back Fri to drop off my monitor & have my cervix checked again. I have been having some contractions since she did all that, and they've gotten a little more painful than they have been in the last few days, and I have some blood. I don't normally have blood, but I know that it's normal. So we shall see what happens in the next few days, and I will keep everyone posted :)
