Went in today for my appt. Nurse was rude today :( Anyway I gained 4 lbs this week after losing 4 lbs last week. LOL BP was good, glucose stick was good (sugar in sample). Nurse put me in the room and told me that the dr would be in soon, well I asked if they were going to check me, she said "No we don't do that until 38 wks" I smiled & said, "hmm she needs to check me, I usually don't make it much past 38 wks, I've been contracting like crazy, and the dr last week said that I could have her check me" She rudely grabbed the gown & left. To me it's not that big of a deal, and since my last was born at 38 w 1 d, I think it's necessary. Especially since 1) my children seem to come earlier each time & 2) my next appt will be at 38 w 4 d, may not make it that far.
So the dr comes in, we discuss my visit to the ICU as she was one that checked on me while I was there. Then she checked me, I am 2.5-3 cm, 50% effaced, & -3 station. She said to come back in a week, in less of course I go into labor before then. So we shall see what happens in the next few days. Ideally I would love for him to come today, but don't think that's going to happen.
Two yrs ago today my cousin passed away at the age of 20. For the whole family this of course is a sad day. Back in Jan of 2000 when I gave birth to my 2nd son, I called my grandmother to share the good news & she said Thank You! I was confused of course, but then she told me that I gave her something positive to think about on that day, Jan 3rd. Her mother had passed away on Jan 3rd of 1977 & then 4 yrs later her brother died on the same day. So now she had something good to think about that day. That's why I would love for him to come today, my cousin was so young, & it was so unexpected. In 2009 I got pg within a few days of her passing, so thought it was cool to be due in the same month she passed, like she had something to do with it. We love & miss you Heather! RIP
