Visit to ICU

So as posted before, Mon morning I went to the ob about swelling in my hands & face. Appt went well, so I left. Outside I called the cardiologist because on Sat my vision went black for a few mins. I ended up leaving a message for the nurse, well then my heart was starting to race. I called hubby tell him what happened at my appt, and it was steadily getting worse. I thankfully had William with me, as well as Braeden & Zackary. I told William that we were going to sit there & wait for my heart to calm down before leaving. Well, after 30 min, taking a pill & it not calming down, I called the cardio. dr again & asked if they could put me on the ekg to see what it was doing & if they could catch it while it was doing it. I remembered my mom telling me that with her P.A.T that they couldn't catch it unless it was acting up. Thankfully they are in the same office building as my ob.

They got me in, hooked me up & my hb was 199 bpm. She printed the ekg results & showed the nurse, she came in & checked again & it was 226 bpm. She said, "you're going to the ER". It scared the crap out of me, I was alone with the 3 boys, the nurse wheeled me over there & another nurse walked over with the boys & sat in the ER with them while they got me through triage. They put me in a room & started monitoring me right away. I stayed in V tach for 3 hrs with beats between 150 to over 200. They put me on an iv med, and sent me to ICU. 

Once the meds kicked in my hb went back to a normal rhythm, not going over 120 (well normal for me, normal is 60-99 bpm). I saw the dr Tue morning, he said he was going to take me off the iv meds, and give me a new pill to take. What they ended up doing was taking me off the IV meds, and started giving me a pill called Betapace or Sotalol, it is to be taken 2 times a day. I however found out that it takes 3 days of monitoring before they will send you home. This did not make hubby or the boys happy at all. I missed them all so much. Thankfully Thursday, after only 4 doses of the pill, they decided to send me home, and I have to go in tomorrow for another EKG. 

While in the ICU, I had my u/s, baby measured good, he measures at 36 w 4 d. They did several NST's & checked me for dilations since I was having some really painful contractions. I am only a fingertip dilated. They have said that they don't want baby to come now, so unless it's really needed, they won't take him. So for now I go in for weekly u/s & appts. She also wants me to do another 1 hr to make sure that I haven't developed GD late.
